Elderly man trapped in wrecked car

AN elderly man was rushed to hospital at Warrington this afternoon after a two-car collision.
The man was driving a Fiat Punto which was in collision with a Range Rover in Hunt’s Lane, Grappenhall.
He was trapped in the badly damaged car and fire crews had to use special rescue equipment to release him from the vehicle. He was then placed on a spine board and taken to hospital by ambulance.
The occupants of the Range Rover were badly shaken but uninjured.
