WARRINGTON Wolves are back at Wembley.
They routed Catalan Dragons 54-12 at the Stobart Stadium Widnes, swiftly wiping out any fears that the French side could repeat their shock victory over Wolves at Perpignan last month.
Wolves dominated from the start. By half time they were leading 24-6 and there was no let up in the second half as they continued to pile on the pressure.
An estimated 10,000 Warrington fans were in the stadium, cheering on the rampant Wolves. The result was never in doubt and the only fear now must be that it was too easy and that Tony Smith’s team will face a much sterner test when they meet Leeds in the final.
However, there will be few who were not pleased to hear of Leeds’ victory over St Helens on Saturday, for if any side seems to have a jinx over Warrington it is the Saints.
Louis Anderson’s hat-trick was the outstanding feature of the game.
But there were tries also from Ben Harrison, Matt King (Pictured right) Chris Riley, Lee Briers, Richie Myler and Jon Clark.
Ben Westwood’s seven goals, plus two more from Briers and Myler were the icing on the cake.
Dragons just about got their name on the scoreboard through two tries from Greenshields and two goals from Bosc.
At times they fought bravely. But no-one can doubt that this game belonged 100 per cent to Wolves.
