X-Factor finalist Lucie Jones wowed the massive crowds at Golden Square shopping centre last night as she switched on this year’s Christmas Lights in Warrington.
The singer battled delays in traffic to entertain one of the biggest crowds ever in Warrington’s town centre performing four songs including ‘I promise you’ and ‘This is me’ from Camp Rock, her last performance on the ITV show.
Wrapped up in a woolly hat and scarf, Lucie even led the crowd in the Old Marketplace in a Christmas sing-a-long.
“These are the best Christmas lights I’ve seen so far and I’m really amazed at how many people have turned up!”, X factor star Lucie said, “The crowd and atmosphere was just fantastic and I have to say that this is the best gig I’ve done so far!”
The crowd, who were also entertained by a variety of fantastic acts throughout the night including singer Kristyna Miles, High School Musical/Hannah Montana tribute act High School Holiday and Parr Hall’s larger than life panto stars, welcomed the star act on stage with chants of ‘Lucie’.
Lucie, who said that she is now backing Stacey Solomon to win X Factor, greeted the ‘Kids Make Christmas’ art competition winners on stage then turned on the Christmas lights with the winners of the ‘Kids Make Christmas’ art competition who were all delighted to meet the star.
