Santa arrives by horse-drawn sleigh

FATHER Christmas arrived in Culcheth in style – after flying from Lapland in a horse drawn carriage.
His reindeers were resting in readiness for December 25 but the horse drawn carriage got Santa to Bents Garden and Home with no difficulty.
His arrival marked the start of festivities at the garden centre with masterclass and entertainment evenings taking place every Wednesday until December 10 and Bents’ popular family fun weekend taking place on Saturday and Sunday December 6-7.
There will be plenty to entertain young and old alike at the fun weekend.
A forest of freshly cut trees will lead to a children’s fairground ride and supervised petting area where children can get up close to two of Santa’s reindeers who will be making a special visit on the Saturday.
A balloon modeler and face painter will keep children entertained while others write their letters to Santa and take advantage of Bents’ very own direct postal service to Lapland. Father Christmas will also be joining in the fun which will take place throughout the weekend between 10.00am and 4.00pm.
Parents and grown ups can enjoy a glass of hot punch with mince pies, on sale for Bents’ Charity of the Year.
The horse drawn carriage was loaned to Father Christmas for the day by Cobs and Plods.
