Bookie robbed of takings

A BOOKIE was robbed of his takings just after leaving his betting shop at Warrington.
The robbery was outside Causeway Racing in Lovely Lane, at about 6.40pm last night (Thursday).
An employees of the firm was leaving the premises with takings in a cash bag when he was confronted by a man who grabbed the bag and ran off in the direction of Bewsey Road.
The betting shop employee, a local man aged 43, was unhurt but was left badly shaken.
Police said the offender was described as stocky, with short black hair and was wearing white training shoes.
