A South African adventure!

Have you ever thought of travelling to South Africa?
I was lucky enough to go for a week at the beginning of February this year.
There were eight of us and we flew from Manchester via Heathrow to Johannesburg and then a connecting flight to Port Elizabeth. We were met by our drivers, who drove us to Kariega Game Reserve, where we stayed for 2 nights in two lodges. Here we experienced the Big 5 and what a fantastic experience this was seeing the animals at close range. Our photos are stunning and it was incredible to think we had been that close to the lions etc.
From here we were taken back to Port Elizabeth where we collected two hire cars to commence our drive down the Garden Route-the scenery on this route is stunning and we stopped half way down in Knysa and stayed two nights at Knysa Quays Hotel.
This hotel is right on the side of the Knysa Lagoon facing the sea through the Knysa Heads.
The Knysa waterfront has some really good restaurants, bars and speciality boutiques. We did a trip out to sea experiencing the Featherbed Reserve and fantastic views of the coast line. We were off on our travels too soon but the lure of the Winelands was too great not to move on!!
Here we stayed in the Protea Hotel Stellenbosh where we were taken to a vineyard to spend the afternoon tasting wines – to say we all enjoyed this would not be a mistake. The staff educated us on all aspects of wine including the history of the vineyard.
Off again on our way to Cape Town now, our hotel here was a funky boutique type hotel with a climbing wall on the outside of it, the Protea Fire and Ice Hotel is situated at the base of Table Mountain.
We spent the next 2 days exploring the waterfront area, Table Mountain, Cape of Good Hope, etc then waved sad farewell before we boarded our plane back to the UK.
I would love to talk to anyone looking at booking a holiday to South Africa and needs any advice on hotels, where to stay etc.
