Hi, My name is Paul Dykes, I was born in Warrington and have a brother and two sisters – we lost one of my sisters recently.
My mother and father have also both passed away.
I am writing because my Father and mother who were in the RAF and WRAF, respectively, were very good friends with at least two families stationed at Burtonwood and had many fond memories of the times they spent with those friends.I have enclosed a couple of photos of them enjoying themselves at Burtonwood.
One of the photo’s is of my parents dancing at Burtonwood and the other one of them sitting with their friends in the nco’s club.
I remember the family name of one of the friends as being Canning.
I am a resident of Melbourne Australia, my son who is twenty is putting together a family tree and found your web site so we thought we would drop you a line. I will write again some time in the near future maybe I’ll find some more info to pass on.
