FIREFIGHTERS at Warrington have said a big thankyou to the town’s motorists for supporting their charity car wash.
Drivers turned out in force to support the Fire Fighters Charity – enabling the firefighters to raise £350 in one day.
Car wash organiser, watch manager John Whiteley, said: “Firefighters with their buckets and sponges raised money for this worthy cause as well as handing out road safety advice.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped us raise an amazing £350.”
Chairman of the Fire Fighters Charity and Deputy Chief Fire Officer Mark Cashin said: “It is testament to the support we have from the public when events such as this show how generous people can be as a magnificent total of £350 was raised on the day.
“It costs over £9 million every year to keep The Fire Fighters Charity running and, with no government funding, it is completely reliant on donations from the general public and fire community.”
Drivers in the Warrington area will also be able to get their cars washed for charity when Birchwood Fire Station hold their charity car wash on Saturday, March 21 from 10am to 4pm or at Stockton Heath Fire Station on Saturday March 28 from 10am to 2pm.
