WARRINGTON Wolves’ three new signings have been included in Tony Smith’s 19-man squad for Saturday’s visit of Salford.
Hooker and reigning Man of Steel Daryl Clark (pictured right), Fiji international prop Ashton Sims (pictured bottom) signed from the NRL and former St Helens utility Gary Wheeler are all set for their competitive debuts.
Full-back Matty Russell is missing due to his ongoing mouth problem.
Smith said: “A home game is a great way to start for us; to really get our support going from the word go. Hopefully we can play with a style that warrants a big crowd. We have some exciting new players who have joined and some exciting current players, so it’s a good mix.
“Salford will certainly be a dangerous team once again…They’re fighting to get some momentum for the season. They’ll be keen for a strong start…But it’s more about us and what we need to do this year.”
The game has been brought forward to the Saturday following a new RFL ruling, that enables teams to re-schedule their games when selected for Thursday night TV coverage the following week.
