Art group wins cash grant

A COMMUNITY art group that keeps on growing has been granted funding for new equipment – thanks to Warrington Borough Council’s central neighbourhood team.
Fearnhead Community Art Group, which has been running for many years, has been awarded £339 to buy new tables to keep up with the demands from new members.
The neighbourhood team’s funding appraisal panel felt that their bid helped towards meeting one of the council’s pledges – to help build strong and active communities for all.
Cllr Kate Hannon (pictured), the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “Fearnhead community art group is a fabulous example of how groups can benefit from our local fund to make improvements in their local community.
“Local groups can apply for funding ranging from £50 to £5,000. I would urge any community group to take advantage of the fund and to apply. Well done to those involved in the project.”
