Santa set to open Christmas Grotto

SANTA Claus will be arriving in Warrington on Saturday November 22, opening his Grotto at 12noon.
He will ride his sleigh and reindeer through the town, down Buttermarket Street from New Town House to The Skittles in the town centre, to arrive at the Warrington Disability Partnership’s Information Point, situated in the rear hall of Warrington market, to perform the Grotto’s grand opening.
Following the opening Santa will remain at the Grotto from 12noon to 4pm and will then return – along with his dedicated little helpers of course – on Saturday, November 29 and then during December (Friday 12 and 19 and Saturday 6, 13 and 20) between 10am and 4pm.
In the week leading up to Christmas Day, Santa and his helpers will be at the Grotto on December 22 and 23 from 10am to 4pm and on Christmas Eve from 10am to 2pm.
Entrance to the Grotto is £4 at all times and includes a present from Santa.
A Christmas raffle – with some truly fantastic prizes including a brand-new washing machine (supplied by Mike Croughton from J.A.K. Appliances & Repairs), a Kindle Fire HD and a luxury Christmas hamper – will also be taking place at the market to raise funds for WDP.
Tickets cost 50p each and will be available from the following venues: The Disability Information Point at Warrington Market; The Centre for Independent Living in Beaufort Street, Warrington; Shopmobility Warrington at Legh Street Car Park, Warrington; The Mobility & Independent Living Store in the Golden Square Shopping Centre, Warrington; and The Mobility & Independent Living Services based at Brunswick Business Park, Liverpool.
The raffle draw will take place on Saturday, December 20 at 4pm (after Santa has finished at the Grotto for the day) and everyone at WDP would like to wish those taking part in the raffle the very best of luck.
Dave Thompson MBE DL MBA, Warrington Disability Partnership’s Founder and Event Co-ordinator, said: “We are very excited that Santa is coming to town and we are looking forward to making him feel right at home at the Grotto in Warrington Market.”
