Shuttle bus to run when road closes

A FREE shuttle bus service is to operate tomorrow (Sunday) to reduce inconvenience to bus passengers when Thewlis Street is closed at the A57 Sankey Green Island.
The closure is the first of a number that will be required while improvements are carried out on Sankey Way, the A574 Cromwell Avenue and A57 Sankey Green Island junctions.
Tomorrow’s closure will be between 7am and 5pm.
Further information on how these buses will operate will be available at the bus interchange and affected bus stops.
Thewlis Street will also be closed in the evening on Sunday November 2 and Friday November 7 between 7pm and 11.30pm.
The main road closures scheduled for A57 Sankey Way/A574 Cromwell Avenue scheme are as follows:
*Cromwell Avenue southbound, November 3-4
*Cromwell Avenue northbound November 3-4
*Cromwell Avenue South November 4 and November 6
*Sankey Way eastbound November 3-4
*Sankey Way westbound November 3 and November 6.
These closures will only be in place between 7pm and 5am and a diversion route will be signed to maintain access at all times.
Please be advised that these times may be subject to change due to weather conditions during the week.
The council apologises for any inconvenience caused during these surfacing works.
