TRIBUTES have been made from the families of two people who died on the M56 near Warrington last Thursday (Oct 9th).
Lorry Anthony Bainbridge, 49, of Esh Winnning, County Durham and Julie Darnell, aged 39, from St Helens, both tragically lost their lives in the road traffic collision.
Anthony, a HGV driver for 25 years, was better known to his friends and family as “Bambi”. He was a father, step father, grandad, brother and uncle.
“Anthony was a much loved character in the village of Esh Winning having been born there and lived in the village all his life. He was known as a joker, always making people laugh.
“Anthony was a Sunderland fan through and through and much to everyone?s surprise he was a keen grower of tomatoes and cucumbers which he grew in his greenhouse at home.
“Anthony?s untimely death is a sad loss to the whole of Esh Winning and all those that knew and loved him.”
Meanwhile Julie was the much loved partner of Billy Hickman and loving mother of Sean, daughter of Mary and the late George Darnell, sister to Paul and Nicola and auntie to Connor, Anya and Thomas.
“Julie was a former student of St.Cuthberts Secondary School and Carmel College in St. Helens. She was an avid Liverpool supporter and had a love of motor sports in particular F1 and would often get up early with Billy and Sean to watch the Grand Prix. She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and colleagues.
“Julie was full of fun with a great sense of humour and lived life to the full, a very special confident woman who was kind, considerate, caring and touched so many people?s lives.
“There is now a massive void in our lives that can never be filled. We will all miss her dearly but we are so proud that we have many wonderful memories of her to cherish.
“The family would ask everyone to respect their privacy at this very difficult time.”
