Speeding issue to become a priority

A Councillor has called on local police to help address issues of speeding traffic along Wigshaw Lane, Cucheth, Warrington.
The problem of speeding vehicles – which has been brought to the attention of Cllr Matt Smith (pictured) by residents in Pendle Gardens and Wigshaw Lane itself – was highlighted at September’s meeting of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
Now thanks to Cllr Smith’s intervention the area will become a “priority” for local officers over the next month, as efforts are made to clamp down on speeding motorists.
Cllr Smith said: “We are committed to taking all reports of speeding in our village seriously. The Parish Council regularly liaises with local police to ensure that local priorities are acted upon. We are pleased to have been able to respond so quickly to the reports we received from people in Pendle Gardens and Wigshaw Lane, and hope that the extra attention means this problem can be reduced.”
