Remembering World War One

TWO events marking the centenary of World War 1 are to be staged by Fairfield Community Association, Warrington.
This Saturday (August 30) the Iron Shed Artists are presenting the WW1 Experience from 10am to 10pm at the Old School, Fairfield Street.
This is an exhibition featuring the work of local artists, covering life in the trenches and at home. There will be a period-themed tea room serving refreshments and lot of activities to join in and experience the feelings of the era. Entry and parking is free.
On Saturday, September 6 at 7.30pm there will an evening of songs from the shows and music of the WW1 period and a performance of Gilbert and Sullivan’s “Trial by Jury” presented by Warrington Light Opera.
Tickets are available from the Old School in Fairfield Street or from the Pavilion Tea Rooms in St Elphin’s Park, Manchester Road, Warrington.
