Five fire engines tackle serious house blaze

FIRE crews have been called to the scene of a serious house fire in Warrington this afternoon.
Five fire engines are at the scene of the blaze in Gerosa Avenue, Winwick, which involved a semi-detached bungalow.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two main jets and two hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze, gaining access to the loft in the property next door where the flames had spread. About 25 firefighters were involved in the operation.
Crews are now damping down at the scene.
