TWO Warrington projects are among 155 sharing in over £1.3 million of grants across the North West from the Big Lottery Fund’s Awards for All today (Tuesday).
The Fearnhead Education Project has received £8,400. This voluntary and community organisation will use the funding to purchase a printer and computer to enable them to teach the wider community to create newsletters to publicise their activities and learning sessions. This will enable the community to have greater access to activities.
Meanwhile the Westy Community Centre Action Group has received a grant of £2,587 and will use funding to refurbish their kitchen and run community activities for a range of people in the area. This will reduce isolation, address health issues and increase community cohesion.
Lyn Cole, Big Lottery Fund Deputy Director for England, said: “It’s great to see the variety of projects funded across the North West today through Awards for All and how a little funding can go a long way. From supporting heritage projects at Epiacum Roman Fort to funding equipment for a wheelchair basketball club in Bolton, Awards for All grants are helping communities and people most in need across the region.”
