THE 50th annual Thelwall Rose Queen Festival takes place on June 21 – and to mark the occasion the theme chosen for the procession this year is “Gold”.
This year’s Rose Queen – Eva Lavender, aged 12 – will be joined by many of the former Queens who have been invited to help celebrate he Golden Jubilee.
Eva is a pupil at King’s Leadership Academy, Warrington. She will be crowned after the procession through the village streets.
The main arena attraction will the Batala Samba Band but there will also be a dog-show staged by the RSPCA.
Side-shows will include a miniature railway, Ramp Riders, 18 Hole Crazy Golf, an inflatable assault course plus fairground rides.
Other stalls include face-painting, garden plants, wooden creations, satchels and scarves, jewellery, wooden engraved items, bottle tombola, book stall, coconut shy, stocks and a general tombola.
