AN award-winning supermarket chain currently building a new store at Warrington stepped in to support a local community event.
People who took part in Warrington Disability Partnership’s “A Walk in the Park” event were provided with refreshments – beef-burgers, hotdogs, sweets and bottles of water by Aldi.
The event raised approximately £2,500.
Charlotte Hall, area manager for the supermarket said: “Our support of ‘A Walk in the Park’ was our way of giving something back to the local community as we look to help create a positive environment in the areas where our stores are located.”
She said Aldi had pledged to support the event after being impressed with the range of services provided by WDP.
Aldi is currently constructing a new store on Winwick Road, Warrington on the old Fordton Leisure Centre site.
Brun Munslow, WDP’s partnerships manager, said: “We are sincerely grateful to Aldi for supporting ‘A Walk in the Park’ and we are looking forward to more partnership-working in the future.”
