HS2 one year on – a public meeting

A PUBLIC meeting on how HS2 will still affect residents of Culcheth and surrounding areas will be discussed at a special meeting in the village.
CADRAG (Culcheth and District Railway Action Group) say the threat of HS2 hasn’t gone away, with the proposals are still on the table.
Although they may have recently changed slightly nationally, the current proposals still threaten devastation to local villages.
CADRAG Chair Frank Allen said: “The Consultation has closed but we must continue our campaign in the political arena.”
The next CADRAG public meeting and AGM will be on Friday May 9 at 7.30pm in the Culcheth Parish Hall (next to Sainsburys).
Frank added: “This meeting will be a lot more than an AGM with an update on actions carried out over the past 12 months and planning for the next stage of our campaign to stop HS2 decimating our village.
“We urge everyone to attend the meeting on May 9 as HS2 affects us all and we need full village support in our efforts.
For more information, or if you would like to volunteer for the Committee, contact Frank on 01925 765017.
CADRAG is also holding a Quiz Night to raise funds for their campaign, at the Village Club on May 23.
