Police tsar meets the public

MORE than 30 Warrington residents met Cheshire Police and Crime Commissioner John Dwyer (pictured) when his mobile surgery visited the town.
Of 34 people he spoke to, 22 said they thought their local police were doing a good or excellent job, said Mr Dwyer.
He said: “I was really interested to hear people’s views about policing in Warrington.
“Many people wanted to raise local issues with me which ranged from parking problems, especially for wheel chair users, petty crime and young people playing football in the streets to some more hard hitting issues such as drug dealing and burglary.
“I will be passing the information given to me to the local Warrington policing team to follow up. I will also build their policing priorities in to my decision making processes when I set my next Police & Crime Plan.
“I was joined by local PCSO Dean Bickerton and Special Sergeant Charlie Mills who seemed to have a really good rapport with the local people.”
