Wolves keep Wembley dream alive

WARRINGTON Wolves kept their Wembley dream alive as they came from behind to win a tough encounter 24-28 at Hull KR – and their reward is a home tie against Doncaster in the 5th round.
The hosts opened up a 12-0 lead thanks to tries from Cockayne (14) and Walker (18) both converted by Burns.
Warrington hit back on 21 minutes when Atkins won the race to Myler’s grubber kick. Bridge added the extras to make it 12-6.
Hull KR added a penalty through Burns after Warrington kicked a drop out straight out of play.
But back came Warrington as a sweeping moved involving Hill, Russell and Westwood saw Joel Monaghan in at the corner. Bridge was wide with the conversion making it 14-10 at the break.
Warrington took the lead for the first time shortly after the interval as Cockayne fumbled a high ball from Ratchford. From t e resulting scrum Rhys Evans went over in the corner, with Bridge converting well to make it 14-16.
Back came the hosts as Bridge knocked on giving Rovers the possession from the resulting scrum and following a repeat set Gardner crossed for a try. Burns’ conversion drifted wide making it 18-16.
Atkins then went over for his second try as he again won the race for the ball following a Myler kick. Bridge added the extra to make it 18-22.
In a tense final 10 minutes Russell off loaded for Asotasi to dart over on 74 minutes with Bridge’s conversion putting daylight between the scores at 18-28.
But back came Rovers again as Caro went over and Burns added the extras on 77 minutes but Warrington managed to hang on with the final hooter coming as a mighty relief to the travelling supporters.
