THE Warrington Disability Partnership are looking for people to join “Team WDP” for the BUPA Great Manchester 10k run next month.
WDP – which aims to improve the quality of life for disabled people and their families through a range of direct and indirect services – have assembled a team to work up a sweat on Sunday, May 18 in Manchester City Centre to raise funds for the charity.
Tommy Hammond, WDP’s Equipment, Showroom and Loans Coordinator, is the man responsible for putting ‘Team WDP’ together and is now appealing to members of the public who may be interested in joining up to get in touch.
“It would be brilliant if members of the local community who are interested in taking part in the Great Manchester Run on behalf of a Warrington-based charity could contact me as soon as possible,” he said.
“New team members would need to take care of securing sponsorship – and running for six miles around Manchester!
“Honestly though if you haven’t taken part before, this is a fantastic event which brings together people from all sorts of backgrounds who all have their own motivation for taking part. For ‘Team WDP’ it’s about supporting Warrington Disability Partnership and the services we work hard to provide.”
People who would be interested in running on behalf of WDP should please contact Tommy at WDP’s Centre for Independent Living on 01925 240064.
