Man rescued from Mersey

FIRE and rescue crews were quick on the scene to rescue a man who jumped into the River Mersey at Bridgefoot, Warrington.
The man, believed to be in his 30s and under the influence of alcohol, was seen to jump into the water from the Bridgefoot bridge.
Fortunately a fire engine was nearby and arrived quickly on the scene as a crew from Cheshire Fire and Rescue saved the man from drowning.
