NATIONAL Libraries Day this Saturday (Feb 8) will round off a week’s worth of celebrations throughout LiveWire Libraries in Warrington
as the town’s 11 libraries have been asking people to let them know about their favourite books.
On Saturday there will be a host of events to celebrate the national day including a local history drop in session for people interested in researching their local and family history at Warrington library 10am – 12noon and Family Craft Activities to make monster book marks at Orford Park Library and Lymm Library 12noon – 2pm, for all ages.
To mark the day LiveWire wants you to share your favourite books through their Twitter and Facebook pages “Your LiveWire”. Which books have made you laugh, which books have changed the way you think, which books couldn’t you wait to tell your friends about?
Jo Unsworth LiveWire’s Assistant Neighbourhood Wellbeing Manager for Libraries & Learning said: “We are in the middle of an information revolution and librarians and information professionals are central to this. At LiveWire we offer a whole range of services and groups for everyone, from Rhyme-times for mums and babies to IT skills sessions for people looking to learn basic skills.
National Libraries Day is a celebration of what is great about our libraries and librarians and we want everyone to join the fun.”
