A MUCH improved performance saw Warrington Town beat Stoke City’s Under

21s 3-0 thanks to goals from Ben Wharton, Liam Dawson and Phil Mooney.
A superb defence splitting pass from Ciaran Kilheeney set up Wharton for the first on 10 minutes as the striker calmly slotted the ball passed the advancing keeper.
Then on 17 minutes a Liam Dawson free-kick was deflected and beat the keeper.
Warrington’s defence looked solid with full-back Phil Davies making a great goal line clearance in the second half as the visitors searched for a way back into the game.
But substitute Phil Mooney secured victory when he added a third on 59 minutes following good work by fellow substitute Chris Gahgan to send the home fans home happy.
Next up for Warrington is the visit of VCD from the Ryman League this Saturday kick off 3pm, followed by a trip to Gresley next Tuesday evening, kick off 7.45pm.
