Town surrender early lead

DESPITE plenty of chances Warrington Town only managed a 1-1 draw at Burscough after surrendering an early lead.
Striker Lee McEvilly (pictured top) volleyed home with the help of a deflection after just 14 minutes but Town switched off and allowed Darren Brookfield to level on 30 minutes after a comedy of errors in defence.
Warrington offered little threat during the rest of the half.
Town stepped up a gear in the second half but despite creating five clear cut chances couldn’t find the back of the net – with Ash Ruane finding the space – but not the finish.
Manager Shaun Reid will be hoping to see his team return to winning ways after eight games without a win, when they entertain strugglers Goole at the Abacus Solicitors’ Community Stadium on Saturday, kick off 3pm.
They will be without Luke Holden (right) who starts a three match ban.

Town: Roberston, Davies, Ablett, Dogan (c) Flynn, McCarten, Reid, Mooney,(Porter 45) McEvilly,(Shipton 80) Ruane, Holden. Subs: Porter, Shipton, Anderson (Not used).
