  1. The poor attendances at the play-off games are a reflection of the views of a lot of fans that they don’t attach the same importance to the competition as Sky TV would like us to do. Only in Rugby League can a club who finish top of the pile can’t call themselves champions,indeed, it’s possible a club can finish eighth in the league, lose a game in this play off competition and still be declared champions. How daft is that ? Old timers such as myself rate the League first, Challenge Cup second and the *Grand Final* a distant third.

  2. Although I agree with your comments unfortunately a 73,000 sell out for the Grand Final would suggest different from a large number of Rugby League fans.

    Even the Challenge Cup Final was not a sell out this year.

    I think clubs and the rugby league need to realise we are int he middle of a big recession and there needs to be more focus on better deals so families can afford to attend games.
