WARRINGTON Wolves boss Tony Smith is taking no chances against Swinton Lions in the 5th Round of the Carnegie Challenge Cup on Friday night after naming a strong 19 man squad.
Brett Hodgson misses out after picking up an injury in the 62-0 thrashing of Castleford Tigers, while Louis Anderson is rested, with Chris Riley and Matty Blythe drafted back into the 19.
Gareth O’Brien looks set to get a chance to shine for his third consecutive game after impressing in his last two games.
With the Wolves and the undefeated Lions sitting top of their respective leagues Smith is looking forward to the clash.
“We look forward to the match on Friday. Swinton have had a terrific season so far and will be full of confidence about the way they’ve been playing and their ability to win matches. This is certainly going to be a challenge for us for various reasons. I’d like to think that if we approach the game in the same manner that we have in recent times it should be a good game of Rugby League. It will certainly be a game we won’t be taking lightly or taking for granted.”
Wolves 19-man Squad:
23 Ryan Atkins 20 Matty Blythe 4 Chris Bridge 6 Lee Briers 10 Garreth Carvell 15 Jon Clarke 18 Mike Cooper 17 Simon Grix 14 Mickey Higham 3 Matt King 5 Joel Monaghan 9 Michael Monaghan 8 Adrian Morley 27 Gareth O’Brien 2 Chris Riley 26 David Solomona 12 Ben Westwood 22 Rhys Williams 16 Paul Wood
