Pensioners had Right Royal time

THE annual pensioners’ lunch at the Whitecross Community Centre, Warrington took on a “Royal Wedding” theme this year.
About 100 older people attended the event, from Whitecross, Bewsey, Dallam, Sankey Bridges and Town Hill.
They travelled to the centre on a Warrington Borough Transport bus and enjoyed a three course lunch of soup, turkey dinner and trifle.
There was entertainment with an old-fashioned sing-alonge, a raffle and bingo, with prizes donated by Warrington Market.
The event was funded by Golden Gates Housing Trust, Mike & Martha’s and the Stronger Together West Team.
Local volunteers helped out on the day.
Planning has already started for next year’s event, which will tie into the Easter holidays.
