Warrington Wolves mean business

WARRINGTON Wolves’ Head of Coaching Tony Smith was guest speaker at the club’s first business breakfast meeting – part of a new business club at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Smith talked about his career, growing up as a farmer’s son in Australia, to working in banking while playing rugby and then moving into coaching.

He talked about his first coaching assignment at Huddersfield Giants, where he went from losing every game in his first season, to winning every game in his second, before moving on to Leeds, where he enjoyed success winning two Grand Finals in a four year spell.

Now the longest serving Coach in Super League he talked about his seven years at Warrington.

When asked about the proudest moments in his career Smith said while winning Grand Finals and Challenge Cups was “obviously nice,” seeing how people developed, gave him the greatest satisfaction and made him most proud.

The breakfast meeting was part of a new Business Club concept the Wolves have introduced this season, which includes match day hospitality and a monthly business breakfast at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
