Stone Roses rock the Parr Hall!

WARRINGTON’S Parr Hall hosted a surprise gig for cult Indie rockers The Stone Roses in front of a 1,100 capacity audience which included Oasis star Liam Gallagher.
Fronted by Lymm based Ian Brown the band used the Parr Hall for their first live gig in 16 years as they brought their much-anticipated live reunion forward.
The group, who kept the performance a closely a secret until 4pm yesterday, hit the stage for a surprise warm-up gig before a string of summer comeback shows.
Fans were told they would be given passes to the concert if they showed up at Parr Hall with a Stone Roses CD or T-shirt – and all tickets were snapped up within minutes as Warrington town centre ground to a standstill with fans literally abandoning cars to get to the event.
Their first reunion show had been scheduled for Barcelona, Spain on June 8 and they were not due to perform in Britain until the end of next month at three Heaton Park concerts in Manchester.
The setlist at the Parr Hall was : ‘I Wanna Be Adored’, ‘Mersey Paradise’, ‘Sally Cinnamon’, ‘Made Of Stone’,‘(Song For My) Sugar Spun Sister’, ‘Where Angels Play’, ‘Shoot You Down’, ‘Tightrope’, ‘Waterfall’, ‘She Bangs The Drums’, and ‘Love Spreads’.

  1. Well done to all the team at the Parr Hall for securing this gig for Warrington. The organisation was faultless and the wrist band allocation ensured no touting. An unforgetable night, lets see more live music events in Warrington.
