HIGHWAYS chiefs at Warrington have drawn up a road safety plan after

receiving a protest petition from 60 residents worried by a “scary”

junction.

MORE than 100 people have lodged strong objections to a controversial planning

application for permission to change the use of green belt land on the

outskirts of Warrington to form a home for travelling show people.

PLANNING chiefs will rule next week on whether a Warrington hotel –

currently in administration – can be used as a temporary driving test

centre.

POLICE are seeking witnesses of a road accident at Warrington in which a 48-year-old motor cyclist was injured.

ANGRY residents have failed in a bid to block  plans to build a

commercial building for shops and offices at a busy Warrington junction.

A BUSY Warrington road is to be subject to temporary closures to traffic while work is carried out on a railway bridge.

THE M6 has been closed at Thelwall Viaduct, near Warrington as a result of a lorry overturning in high winds.

A TEMPORARY ban on traffic will be imposed on Red Lane, Appleton,

Warrington from Monday, January 16 for one week, to allow British

Telecom to carry out ducting work.

THE annual carol concert at Lymm Cross takes place tonight (Saturday)

when roads in the area will be closed to traffic between 6pm and 8.30pm.

Alternative routes for through traffic will be signposted.
