Road works will last six weeks

A SECTION of one of Warrington’s busiest main roads is to be resurfaced over a period of six weeks – with inevitable disruption to traffic.
The work on the A49 Newton Road, between the roundabout at Winwick Link Road and the roundabout at the M62 Junction 9, will start on Monday April 16.
South bound lanes will be closed daily, although a single lane will be open to allow traffic past the site. The right turn into/out of Delph Lane will also be closed during hours of operation.
A 20mph speed limit will be in place for the duration of the works but pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.
In an attempt to minimise disruption to residents, businesses and the travelling public, work will be carried out under restricted hours from Monday to Friday, 9.30am to 3.30pm. No weekend work is envisaged.
