Midfielder Scott Sephton is Warrington Town’s second new signing of the summer.

Sephton, 28, who is no stranger to the town living in Orford, arrives from Buxton and joins Alex Byrne as a new face in Paul Carden’s squad, which report back for pre-season next week.

He started last season in National League North, making three appearances for Ashton United.

Sephton said: “I’ve been speaking to Paul for the past couple of weeks but I’m delighted to get it over the line now.

“I’m glad it’s been sorted before pre-season. I can focus now on getting fit and looking forward to the games to head into the season.

“From playing against them last year, I know this group is a tough group. The play-off games didn’t go as planned for them. They were a very strong side and they didn’t stop.

“Competition for places is good and I know I’m coming into a very strong team. That’s only going to push me to do better myself.”
