Council agree to further extend consultation period on Six56 Green Belt plan

WARRINGTON Borough Council has again agreed to extend the deadline on a controversial large scale logistics development on Green Belt land following IT issues with the council’s website portal and IT system.

Cllr Sharon Harris said: “The Six56 deadline to lodge comments has been extended again until Monday 24th June – please let as many people know as possible.

“The reason for the extension is that the IT systems were out all day Wednesday and again on Thursday for 2 1/2 hours.”

Earlier this month the council agreed to extend the original deadline until today Friday (June 21) after Cllr Harris raised concerns over the overwhelming number of major planning
applications in the public domain, i.e. Stobarts and the Six 56, together with the Local Plan.

There were also IT problems involving the planning application by Eddie Stobart for a logistics development on neighbouring land at Appleton Thorn.

A Warrington Borough Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that the deadline for representations for the Six56 planning application has been extended to Monday 24 June at 5pm. We can
also confirm that all representations received will be considered as part of the process.”
