Traffic held up after lorry spills load on A49

TRAFFIC was held up on the A49 Winwick Road at Warrington this morning after a lorry spilled part of its load.
The incident was near the Alban Retail Park shortly before 8.30am and involved a bag containing building materials.
Fire crews went to the scene and discovered the bag had burst and its contents had spilled out onto the carriageway.
The bag was resealed by contractors and firefighters then used a hose reel jet to clean the road.
Firefighters also assisted police with traffic management during the operation.
