WARRINGTON Town have been handed a tasty home tie against National League side FC Halifax Town with a place in the FA Cup first round proper up for grabs.

The fourth qualifying round tie will take place at Cantilever Park on Saturday October 20 (3pm kick-off).

The Yellows booked their place in this stage of the competition for only the third time in the club’s history, and they will be looking for a repeat of 2014, when they made it through to the FA Cup first round proper and beat League Two side Exeter City.

Halifax were founded in 2008 to replace the former Halifax Town AFC, who had played in the Football League as recently as 2002.

They are currently 13th in the table.

It wont be Halifax’s first visit to Cantilever Park – the teams met in March 2010, in front of what was at the time a record league crowd for Warrington of over over 500, as they Yellows went down 1-3.
