Elderly man in hospital after fire at nursing home

AN elderly man was taken to hospital tonight after fire broke out at a nursing home at Warrington.
The blaze was in the grounds of the home on Longbarn Lane and involved a smoking shelter.
Two fire engines from Warrington and Lymm went to the scene shortly after 6pm.
After the blaze was extinguished, an elderly man was treated by firefighters but was later taken to Whiston Hosp;ital.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
