ACCLAIMED Lymm based Crime Writer, Martin Edwards, will be revealing all about his “life of crime” at Penketh Library on Thursday, February 8

Martin has been a mainstay in the crime-writing field for over 25 years.  His first novel, ‘All the Lonely People’, published in 1991 received a nomination for the John Creasey Memorial Dagger for best first crime novel of the year.

Since then Martin, who is a graduate of Oxford University, has written extensively in every area of crime writing and has gone on to have over 30 crime-fiction novels published.  These include the excellent Harry Devlin and Lake District series in which he skilfully marries people and place with plot.

Born in Knutsford, Martin now lives in Lymm with his wife and family.    He is chairman of the Crime Writers’ Association, eighth president of the Detection Club and is also archivist of both the CWA and the Detection Club. Alongside this, he has had a distinguished career in law, described in 2016 by The Legal 500 as “first class”. He was again recognised as one of the leading lawyers in his field in the 2017 and 2018 directories of Chambers; the former described him as “a fantastic employment lawyer.”

LiveWire Warrington’s Strategic Library manager Wendy Molyneux commented “We are really thrilled to welcome Martin Edwards to Penketh Library. Not only is he a local author whose thriller books are some of the most popular amongst our readers he has always been an avid supporter of LiveWire’s libraries.

“We are delighted that Martin Edwards is able to join us at Penketh Library and look forward to a great evening ahead.

“Martin is a fantastic writer and we think that everybody who attends on the evening will have a really insightful night.”

Tickets for the Martin Edwards Author event at 6.30pm on February 8 at Penketh Library are available from all LiveWire Libraries. Tickets are £2.50 and include refreshments.
