TWO Warrington women have landed jobs on a new housing development after completing work experience with North West Construction Group Cruden.
The work experience was organised by social landlord Golden Gates Housing Trust (GGHT), who offer local people a range of employment support initiatives to help people get back into training and work.
Kim Mottram received support from GGHT’s Employment Support team and Cath Nixon was signed up by New Leaf, a project funded by the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund, which is led by GGHT.
Cruden were so impressed with Cath and Kim Mottram during their two week’s work experience that they offered them both jobs as site labourers on the new housing development in Dallam.
Cath, who is returning to work after being a stay-at-home mum said: “I really enjoyed the work experience and did not want it to end. Cruden made us feel so welcome and a real part of the team.
“I really appreciate the help and support I have received from my New Leaf mentor.  I was able to get real life work experience and put it into practice. The New Leaf project not only gave me new skills, it increased my confidence too.”
Warrington-based Cruden Group is committed to adding value and supporting local communities, through their award winning Corporate Social Policy initiative called “Escalate” which supports positive and sustainable change in the communities in which the company works.
Phil Roberts, GGHT employment advisor, was thrilled with the positive outcome and added: “Cath and Kim had both been looking for a new challenge but lacked vital work experience. We are so pleased that Cath and Kim have secured employment with Cruden.”
