Mayor to stage evening of food and entertainment

A SPECTACULAR evening of food and entertainment from around the world, organised by Mayor of Warrington Faisal Rashid is being held at Walton Hall Park on Wednesday July 6.
The multi-cultural evening has been organised by Cllr Rashid to celebrate an array of cultures from Asia, Africa and Europe.
He said: “I wanted to celebrate multi-culture in our town to help strengthen the community bond.
“Working with our partners, Warrington Disability Partnership, we have put together a great evening during their celebratory week.
“There will be wonderful, colourful performances of traditional and contemporary dance from around the world, live music and other performances and the chance to sample amazing food from across the globe. I really hope as many people as possible will take this opportunity to come together to celebrate our worldwide community and have a fantastic time doing it.
“And don’t let the prospect of any rain put you off, the evening has been weather proofed as it is being held in a marquee.”
The event runs from 7pm-11pm. Tickets are £10, available from the Town Hall reception and the Mayor’s office. Tickets are limited so booking early is recommended.  There will be a licensed bar.
All proceeds will go to the Mayor’s charity appeal supporting Warrington Disability Partnership, St Rocco’s Hospice, the Tim Parry Jonathan Ball Centre for Peace and Brainwave.
