Two new board members for enterprise partnership

THE Cheshire and Warrington Local Enterprise Partnership has announced the appointment of Clare Hayward and Robert Mee to its Board.

Clare is a Partner at Cirrus, the Macclesfield based international business consultancy, and a former Chair of ‘Make it Macclesfield’.

robert-meeRobert helped to put together a private led Regeneration Board for Ellesmere Port, which he currently chairs, and has a great deal of business experience drawn from his 40 year career in banking and financial services.  As a Council Member of the North of England Zoological Society, which operates Chester Zoo, Robert also chairs the Operations and Finance Committee.

Christine Gaskell, Chair of the Local Enterprise Partnership said: “I’m delighted to welcome Clare and Robert to the Board.  They came through a really strong field and bring not only a wealth of private sector experience, but also a real commitment to Cheshire and Warrington through their roles in developing the local economies in Macclesfield and Ellesmere Port.”

Clare and Robert join a Board drawn from local authorities and the business community responsible for charting an exciting economic future for Cheshire and Warrington and acting as ambassadors and advocates for the area with the Government, the private sector, nationally and internationally.  It overseas a budget of around £1/3 billion, including projects such as the Northgate development in Chester and the Congleton by-pass

Clare Hayward, newly appointed LEP Board Member, said:”I am delighted to be joining this very competent board and I am looking forward to translating my passion for Cheshire into tangible opportunities for business, residents and visitors.”

Robert Mee, newly appointed LEP Board Member , added: “I am looking forward to joining the Board and to helping create employment opportunities through encouraging inward investment and the expansion of existing businesses in Cheshire and Warrington”.

Robert and Clare take up their posts, which are unpaid, with immediate effect.
