WARRINGTON’S Rugby League World Cup organising consortium has launched a photography competition to help promote the town as a tourist destination ahead of the tournament later this year.
The group will be looking to produce a range of new tourism leaflets and other marketing materials over the coming months and is keen to get the input of local people in this task by asking them to send in a photo of their favourite places and spaces in the borough.
Jan Souness, chairman of the local RLWC2013 group said: “We are looking for photos from the public that best capture the spirit of Warrington, perhaps images of local events and the activities they like to participate in, the attractions or areas they like to visit and the things that make this borough special.”
The competition is open to everyone but pictures which have already won prizes in other competitions cannot be accepted. Individuals can submit up to three entries each, in a JPEG format and should not exceed 5MB.
Entries should be emailed to thewire@warrington.gov.uk by 5pm on Friday May 17.
