PEOPLE who place rubbish in bins in Warrington town centre could be in for a shock – when it sings to them.
Four singing bins are to be installed in the town as part of Keep Britain Tidy’s “Love where you Live” campaign.
Warrington is an ambassador for the campaign and the bins will visit the town for four weeks from Monday, November 5.
The idea is to encourage people not to drop litter in the street – particularly cigarette litter, which makes up 40 per cent of all street litter.
When fed with rubbish, the bins will sing replies such as “I love it when you feed me” and “I’m singing in the bin”, voiced by celebrities.
Cllr David Keane, the borough council’s executive member for environment and public protection, said: “We’re delighted to be an ambassador of the Love Where You Live campaign and hope these talking bins will really get the people of Warrington thinking twice before dropping litter on the floor.
“We need the support of the whole community to help clean up our streets.”
The campaign encourages people to take pride in their community and do their bit in cleaning it up.

The litter droppers won’t notice the singing since they won’t be putting anything in the bin, it is more than sad it is totally pathetic. Warrington ambassadors for a singing bin. Wow!
