THE Environment Agency today issued a flood warning for parts of Warrington.
High winds at Liverpool, combined with a high tide, could cause flooding in Chester Road, between Brian Bevan Island and Arpley Railway Bridge and in Arpley Road, according to the agency.
Peak period is likely to be about 1.45pm.
The agency has also issued a flood alert for both banks of the Mersey throughout its length between Liverpool and Warrington.
Anyone with concerns can get more information by call the Floodline on 0845 988 1188, choosing option one and entering the Quickdial number 0224351.
An agency spokesman said it was possible river levels would affected Arpley Road underneath the railway bridge.
*Later, the flood warning for Chester Road and Arpley Road was lifted, after water levels railed to rise as much as feared. But the flood alert for the Mersey between Warrington and Liverpool remained in place
