THOUSANDS of people in Cheshire and Warrington risk losing their vote in the Police and Crime Commissioner elections on November 15.
Local authorities’ election teams throughout the county have joined in a campaign to remind people to complete the annual voter registration form.
During the past two months, households in the area will have received the forms which must be returned to Warrington Borough Council by Wednesday October 31.
Alison McCormick, from the council’s election’s team, said: “You have to be on the electoral register if you want to have your say in the first Police and Crime Commissioner elections in Cheshire.
“Some people wrongly assume that paying council tax means you are registered to vote. I am urging all those eligible to vote in Warrington to return their form as soon as possible.”
If there are no changes to details people can register by using the 24 hour freephone telephone service 0800 025 3148 or text 020 3137 9094 or register online www.register-online.co.uk
