POLICE have launched an appeal for witnesses after a pedestrian was injured in a “fail to stop” collision in Stockton Heath, Warrington over the weekend.
The incident took place at approximately 6:00 pm on Saturday, when a pedestrian was crossing London Road near the Domino’s Pizza takeaway. While crossing, the victim was struck by a pedal cyclist.
The cyclist failed to stop at the scene and immediately rode away.
Cheshire Police were first made aware of the incident at around 1:30 pm on Sunday, when the collision was officially reported to emergency services. Officials confirmed that the victim sustained a broken wrist as a direct result of the impact.
Officers are now tracking down the rider and are asking members of the public for assistance. Anyone who may have witnessed the incident, holds dashcam or CCTV footage from London Road at that time, or has information regarding the identity of the cyclist is urged to come forward.
