Residents across Warrington are being encouraged to put on their walking shoes, wear their brightest neon colours and take part in this year’s 80s-themed Neon Night Walk in support of St. Rocco’s Hospice.
Taking place at Halliwell Jones Stadium on Saturday 5th September 2026, the family-friendly fundraising event will see hundreds of supporters come together to take part in a vibrant 5km walk while raising vital funds for hospice care across the local community.
Participants who register before 17 July can receive 20% off their entry fee with the discount code NNW20, reducing adult entry to £12 and children’s entry to £9.60. So, sign up today to secure your place at a discounted rate.
The event opens from 6:30 pm with 80’s themed entertainment, followed by an energetic warm-up with Sharon Bannister before the walk.
There will be food and refreshments available to purchase at Halliwell Jones Stadium and a range of merchandise on sale to complete your 80’s look, including tutus, leg warmers and flashing headwear.
Participants will set off on the Neon Night Walk across Warrington at 8 pm. Walkers can take part in memory of a loved one, to support their local hospice, or enjoy a fun evening with friends, family or work colleagues while making a difference.
Last year, 200 people took part, raising over £18,000 for patient care at St. Rocco’s. This year, St. Rocco’s needs your help to make it bigger, brighter, and better than ever!
Importantly, registration fees cover the cost of staging the event, meaning every pound raised through sponsorship and fundraising goes directly towards providing care and support for patients and loved ones supported by St. Rocco’s Hospice.
Each participant will receive an official Neon Night Walk t-shirt following registration to wear on the night and a commemorative finisher’s medal.
The 5km route is designed to be accessible for most fitness levels and is expected to take between 45 and 90 minutes to complete, depending on walking pace. There is also an opportunity to purchase a paper lantern and add a personal message or dedication in memory of a loved one. The lanterns will be displayed outside Halliwell Jones Stadium, forming a heartfelt tribute that walkers can reflect on as they pass by.
The Events Team is also looking for lots of volunteers to support the event. Volunteer roles include route marshals to direct and cheer on the walkers, as well as volunteers based at the stadium to signpost people, help with registration, sell merchandise, and give out medals when the walkers cross the finish line.
