Colleagues at the Belong Warrington care village, on Loushers Lane, are celebrating being shortlisted for a major national award recognising their commitment to creating an open, inclusive, and deeply welcoming environment for residents and visitors.
The team at the Cunningham household, one of the village’s households for people requiring 24-hour care, has been shortlisted for the Diversity and Inclusion Award at the national Palliative and End of Life Care Awards 2026.
This highlights their exceptional efforts in promoting equality, celebrating diversity and ensuring care is meticulously tailored to the unique cultural, personal, and spiritual backgrounds of residents and their families.
Speaking of the shortlisting, Barry Devine, General Manager at Belong Warrington, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Cunningham household team for earning this national recognition. True person-centered care means honouring exactly who people are, celebrating their life stories and making sure everyone is respected as a valuable and unique person.
“The team’s passion for inclusivity creates a warm, vibrant atmosphere not just for the people who live here, but for their loved ones and our colleagues as well. This finalist spot is a wonderful validation of their everyday dedication.”
Organised by Care Talk magazine, the Palliative and End of Life Care Awards celebrate excellence across the social care sector, shining a light on the individuals and teams who go above and beyond to preserve dignity and improve quality of life for those with life-limiting conditions.
Belong supports older people through its modern care village model, offering specialist dementia care, 24-hour nursing support, and independent living apartments, all centered around a vibrant village hub that is open to the public.
The Cunningham household team will find out if they have clinched the top prize at a glittering gala awards ceremony at the Hilton Bankside in London on 2 July.
